Jane’s Life Altering Chocolate Chip Cookies

This is my mom Jane's chocolate chip cookie recipe, and it is the one I always come back to.
Servings: 3.5 dozen cookies
Course: Dessert

Ingredients

  • 1 cup salted butter room temperature
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla
  • 2 eggs
  • 3 cups all purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • 12 ounces milk chocolate chips

Method

  1. Preheat your oven to 400 degrees.
  2. Cream the butter and both sugars together. Add the vanilla and eggs and mix until everything is smooth and fully combined.
  3. In a separate bowl, stir together the flour, baking soda, baking powder, and salt. Add that to the butter mixture and mix. Fold in the chocolate chips until just combined.
  4. Scoop the dough into 2 tablespoon balls and set them on a greased or lined baking sheet. Bake for 7 to 9 minutes. Take them out before they look ready. This is the part you have to believe me on.
