behind the scenes
When we acquired our house from my parents, they insisted on including a small apartment as a condition. This space serves as a place for visiting family members or a refuge for my siblings in need, rather than for rental purposes.
The design and decor of the apartment were entrusted to my mother, Jane, aiming for a French Rustic ambiance. It features two bedrooms and one bathroom, with a guest primary bedroom featuring a queen-sized bed and a custom-sized closet, and a guest bedroom equipped with a triple bunk bed.
Living in the transitional apartment had its perks, such as the convenience of walking to school for the kids and a lively community to socialize with.
Though we'll miss the convenience of living close to school, there's not much else we'll miss about the apartment. We're all excited to finally be home. Through our time in both apartments, we learned that home is where the heart is, and we made the temporary space our own. But ultimately, we're grateful for the stability of our permanent home.
