The Imitation Game, Part II

The Imitation Game, Part II

Last week I shared a recap of my October posts from 2020, where I imitated some of my favorite Instagram influencers. I enjoyed the project so much that I decided to do a similar series in 2021. The theme I chose last year was "female music artists I love," and it was honestly SO. FREAKING. FUN! I highly recommend making a music video one day, haha!

This project was also so much work. Each video required planning, costumes, choreography, locations, back up, filming, editing, and more. I 100% wanted to quit halfway through the process because of the amount of time it took. I hardly even saw my family that October.

Despite the hours and hours of work, I wouldn't trade the experience for anything. I got to work with so many amazing people on these videos, and new friendships were formed. There were so many fun guest appearances, like my mom, my sisters, other influencers, and incredibly talented dancers. Huge shout out to Chelsea and Mandy, who hooked me up with such talented dancers. And to John and Lindsay, who did an amazing job with the videography and editing. These people, and more, all helped bring this project to life.

Let's take a look at the music videos from last year:

I'm actually sad I'm not doing this again this year, but it's probably for the best. I'm making a lot more memories with my family this month. Instead of an October series, I decided to start a yearlong Self Portrait Series on my blog this year. It’s kind of different, but I get to spread the workload out and take my time with creating each post. I'm really loving this series because it’s forcing me to look inward and self assess - the good, the bad, and the ugly. You can see that series here!

I hope you enjoyed this little trip down memory lane. Which was your favorite?

xoxo,

Abi
